Urban Pantry Barrie
Urban Pantry is a community food program of the Canadian Mental Health Association Simcoe County Branch (CMHA SCB).
The Urban Pantry program offers food skills and food access programming through the Barrie Good Food Box and “Cooking UP” (community cooking workshops).
CMHA SCB is a member of the Good Food Organization Network. We use the Good Food Principles in all our work.

BARRIE GOOD FOOD BOX
The Barrie Good Food box is a monthly community buying program for fresh, wholesale produce. Anyone and everyone can order a box for $20. The box comes with an assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables, as local as possible. Each month the box contains potatoes, carrots, onions and apples (all from Ontario) plus a variety of other fruits and vegetables.
Order a box by the first Wednesday of the month at www.barriegoodfoodbox.com.
Pick up your box on the second Wednesday of the month.
Cash orders can be placed at 128 Anne St S, Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm (exact-change only please)
Georgian College students pay only $15.00 – Contact Tannis Peacock at Student Life to place your order by the first Tuesday of the month by emailing Tannis.Peacock@georgiancollege.ca
Note: If you order after the deadline the box will go toward the next month. If you do not pickup your box by 6 pm, it will be given to a low-income family via one of our community partners.

“Cooking UP”: COMMUNITY COOKING WORKSHOPS
The make-and-take cooking workshops are currently being offered in partnership with the Barrie Food Bank. The workshops are free for low-income community members, funded by a grant from the County of Simcoe (Social and Community Investment Fund). Volunteers from the community share their skills in making simple, affordable, nutritious meals with ingredients from the Barrie Food Bank and Barrie Good Food Box.

The community gardens are managed by the community partners (City of Barrie, Barrie Housing). Contact Service Barrie to rent a plot at one of the public allotment gardens.
